What is FundingWatcher?
A research publication of Haus Research covering startup funding rounds and the investors behind them. It publishes list pages for both halves, a page per figure, a method page and dated research writeups.
What does the investor file cover?
Investor entries, each either an organization such as a firm, fund, accelerator or corporate venture arm, or a named person recorded as an investor. An entry carries investor type, investment stage, headquarters city, region and country, founding year, website, and the counts of recorded investments, lead investments and exits.
What does the startup file cover?
Company records with name, domain, a one line description, founding year, funding stage, the type and date of the most recent round, the number of rounds, total raised, headcount band, city, region, country and up to five sector groups.
Where does the data come from?
Public investor and company profiles, plus public professional profiles matched to an investor by website domain for the team count. The method page names the fields carried, the fields left out and the cases where a count is a floor rather than a total.
How current is the data?
Every page prints the date of the file it was counted from. There is no fixed update schedule. Figure pages print the change since the previous snapshot once a second snapshot exists.
Is there a download or an API?
No. The site publishes list pages and figure pages, and nothing else. There is no file to download, no API and no query interface.
What does access cost?
Nothing. Every page is free to read. There is no account, no trial and no price.
How do I cite a figure?
Each figure page prints a citation line with the page title, the data date and the URL, ready to copy. Counts and figures may be quoted with a link to the page they came from.
Are individual people published?
No. The investor file carries a count of professional profiles matched to an investor by website domain, and only that count is published. Names, email addresses and phone numbers are not carried.
Why does a page for a small city or a rare investor type not exist?
A slice gets a page once it holds enough rows to be worth reading, or when the query behind it has measured search volume. Slices below that floor are counted on the parent page instead of getting their own URL.
How do I report a correction or ask for a removal?
Email the address on the contact page with the page URL and what is wrong. Removal requests take the URL of the page carrying the entry.
Who publishes FundingWatcher?
Haus Research, an independent research firm. Nothing on the site is paid placement.
