# Software company pricing pages before and after a private equity deal

## Files

**census.csv** - all 2,273 deals checked: `company`, `domain`, `buyer`, `owner` (the
private equity firm behind an add-on), `buyer_type` (private equity firm,
add-on by PE-owned company, software holding company), `deal_announced`,
`deal_source` (Crunchbase or Wikipedia), `result` (both captures found, or why not).

**companies.csv** - the 189 companies with a pricing page captured before the deal
and at least 9 months after it: `company`, `domain`, `buyer`, `owner`, `buyer_type`,
`deal_announced`, `pricing_path`, `before_capture`, `after_date`, `after_source`
(Wayback capture, or the live page for every 'hid' verdict), `verdict` (raised, hid,
raised and hid, cut, mixed, unchanged, no price before or after, price published, not
comparable), `free_offer_ended`, `what_changed`, `before_url`, `after_url`.
